New York, with inputs from our Washington Bureau:
According to reports reaching us, elite Al Qaeda contingents are operating feely in the NWFP and the FATA. Their mission is to join up with the Jamaat-e-Islami forces inside Pakistan and surround and seize the Pakistani Nuclear arsenal. Some of the Al Qaeda troops have already re-established themselves in the offices of the Lahore head office of the Jamaat at Mansoorah, Multan Road. The gameplan to be rollout is to create disturbances around the nuclear facilities and to seize the delivery systems and to spirit them off across the Khyber with the connivance of the pro-Taliban Pashtun elements in the Pakistani Rangers. The MMA and the Jamaat in Pakistan is every ready to collabrate with the Taliban
Pro-Taliban rebels have seized northern town in Pakistan
This gameplan is further corroborated by reports that the Pro-Taliban rebels have seized a northern town in Pakistan. To quote the report; "Hundreds of armed pro-Taliban Pakistanis have seized a remote northern town demanding the government to stop supporting the US-led strikes on Afghanistan, witnesses said."
"The rebels, armed with rocket launchers, kalashnikov assault rifles, handmade guns and swords, took over most government offices in Chilas about 350 km north-east of Peshawar."
"Pro-Taliban Pakistanis, meanwhile, continued their control of a portion of the key Karakoram highway for the fourth consecutive day severing northern Pakistan's links with its mighty neighbour China."
The mindset of the ideologues of the Jihadis in Pakistan, against America
In the context of all this, the advice to the Americans is to act now and to race to Seize or Destroy Pak Nukes and Delivery Systems before it is too late. This is not mere hearsay. Here is an extract from the Constitutional Petition made in the Supreme Court of Pakistan by Qazi Hussain Ahmed the Ameer (President) of Jamaat-e-Islami Pakistan in the case against the Federation of Pakistan. This shows the mindset of the ideologues of the Jihadis in Pakistan, against America.
(QUOTE)"That the question arises whether a national interest can only be monopolistically defined and imposed by the Government of the day irrespective of considering a public opinion and will of the ultimate sovereigns who have declared themselves as the trusty of the power over the territories of Islamic Republic of Pakistan within the limits of Almighty Allah." "The present regime has no moral or Constitutional authority to interfere in the long term Afghan-Pakistan foreign policy because it has no mandate to reverse the decision taken by the elected government and the present regime has no intention and design to legitimize its stand on the U turn of Afghan policy through a referendum envisaged under Article 48 sub clause 6 of the Constitution of Islamic Republic of Pakistan. This Article requires a decisive role from the people of Pakistan in the form of yes or no on a question of national importance. The petitioner and his party can prove through an independent media reporting and from the words of President General Pervez Musharraf that the Government cannot afford a Afghan hostile policy against the people of Pakistan and the majority of peoples of Pakistan are not in favour of continuation of American attacks on the innocent civilians of people of Afghanistan."(UNQUOTE)
Al Qaeda already has weapon grade uranium and plutonium, with which it can deliver a suitcase bomb into the US
President Musharraf seems to have lost touch with the reality of the reach of the Jihadis within Pakistan who with the reinforcements pouring across the border are aiming to spirit off the nuclear potential into Afghanistan. According to confirmed reports, the Al Qaeda already has weapon grade uranium and plutonium, with which it can deliver a suitcase bomb into the US or any western target. But now with the paranoid security at the airports and coastlines, this has become difficult venture.
What Al Qaeda is seeking is the delivery system for the Nuclear arsenal, more than the arsenal itself
What they are seeking is the delivery system for the Nuclear arsenal, more than the arsenal itself. To reach its target what the Al Qaeda requires is the delivery system. This is what it is seeking to spirit away. The barrier in the way is Pervez Musharraf's personal decision to ally with the US. We gauge that President Musharraf has as a contingency measure asked the Americans to come and defend Pakistan's nuclear facilities. But he has so far been adamant for the American "request" to spirit away Pakistan's nuclear assets out of Pakistan for safe custody. This is the thorn in the flesh that is making the whole situation precarious. In the predictable event of a coup in Pakistan, the situation could become calamitous.
President Musharraf has at hand an emergency satellite phone with a hotline to the Pentagon for an emergency pick up
Even President Musharraf expects this, since he has at hand an emergency satellite phone with a hotline to the Pentagon for an emergency pick up should that become necessary. But going by the events over the weekend the fate of President Musharraf could not be very different from that of ex-Mujahideen commander Abdul Haq! But even if the Americans do not manage to airlift their frontline ally to safety, the question remain that the they cannot afford to miss out on airlifting Pakistan's nuclear arsenal and especially its nuclear delivery systems - the famed Gauri and Ghaznavi ICBMs (Inter-Continental Ballistic Missiles). As, a question mark on this eventuality could be too costly, it would be prudent for the Americans to move in and destroy those of Pakistan's nuclear assets that they are not sure of airlifting. The Americans need to act now and race to their target before the dreadful happens.
