New York: Osama has declared himself to be the Chief Qazi of Islam. This is his first step to declaring himself the Khalifah (Caliph).
By this masterstroke, he has made himself unassailable in the eyes of the Momin (Devout Muslims) . Whatever decision the Ulema now takes in Kabul on extraditing him out of Afghanistan, its task has been made impossible. And if at all the Afghan Maulavis do decide to extradite him, they would be shown as Murtads (traitors) in the eyes of the Ummat (Muslim community worldwide).
By this act of his Osama has also made any act against him to be an act of war against the entire Muslim community worldwide. By this he has in fact fired the first psychological shot of his fight with the West (rather Rest - of the world). Any act of the West against him will now be looked upon by the Ummat (global Muslim population) to be a signal for waging a Jang-e-Jihad (Holy War) against the non-Muslims.
Irrespective of the fact that he may not be accepted by the formal Muslim governments of Saudi Arabia, Bahrain, Jordan, Egypt as the Chief Qazi of Islam, the point is that the volatile Muslim masses across the globe, will be jubilant on his becoming the chief of the Ummat. It also makes the job of the Civilized world even more difficult. The civilized world would now have to be ready to take on a furious backlash from a large part of the Ummat (global Muslim population) as a reaction to any act against by the USA against Osama.
